About the Course

Today's VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex & ambiguous) business environment means that enterprising companies have to create a value for their customers and stay differentiated from competitors.
This course aims to equip learners with practical and systematic steps to create a viable business through understanding their customers and creating winning business models.
This course is part of 2-part series to help enterprising companies and entrepreneurs build a viable business model through Lean Methodology, Agile Principles, and Team Collaboration.

Trainer Profile:
Benson Ong, Specialist (I&E) & Senior Lecturer
Benson currently teaches Entrepreneurship and International Business modules at the School of Business Management. Besides teaching full-time students, Benson is also actively involved in adult learning programmes. Beside academic teaching, he had performed the role of Lead facilitator to many workshops (local and international), and had performed the role of business consultant to many SMEs in areas such as building viable business model and marketing. Before joining Nanyang Polytechnic as a full-time academic staff, Benson had embarked on many entrepreneurial pursuits including insurance, training, food & beverage, telecommunications, IT solution and digital contents for over 32 years. Benson graduated with a Bachelor of Business (2nd Upper Honours) from the Nanyang Technological University.

Gary Loh, Lecturer
Gary is a lecturer with the School of Business Management in Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). He teaches International Business, Design Thinking for Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
With more than 14 years of experience in Business Consulting prior to NYP, Gary had consulted enterprises and business owners in the areas of Business Strategy & Development, Franchising, Branding and Business Excellence.
During his consultancy career, Gary had:
-Conceptualized, developed and completed more than 100 projects in franchising, branding, and Business Excellence framework etc;
-Led companies for local and overseas tradeshows to explore business opportunities and expansion;
-Orchestrated companies to achieve the industry awards such as Singapore Prestige Brand Awards;
-Negotiated with overseas business partners for franchise expansion in markets such as Indonesia, China, Thailand etc.

Roderich Khoo, Lecturer
He has over 15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry and as entrepreneur. His industry experience extends over different business aspects including business development, franchising, supply chain optimisation, and start-ups.
He has also worked and operated in different parts of Asia including Hong Kong, Macau & Singapore.
After completing his MBA, he ventured into his own business, providing food service solutions to local businesses and the hospitality industry.
Roderich transitioned into teaching, drawn by his passion for teaching and learning. He has devoted his energy to mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, utilizing the lean business model canvas to help them create actionable strategies and a clear roadmap for success.
