FEATURE WRITING AND DIGITAL NEWSLETTER DESIGN

About the Course

Participants will learn the elements of feature writing, including identifying its purpose, crafting the opening paragraph of the article and setting the story's context. They will then design the layout of the group newsletter in digital format using software such as Adobe InDesign & be introduced to different digital platforms such as SquareSpace for the uploading of content.

Trainer Profile:

Gayle Quah, Lecturer

Gayle had nine years of writing and editing experience in the magazine publishing and news content sectors working predominantly on design & interior and food & travel consumer titles. She has always enjoyed putting words to pictures and vice versa. She'd worked in media companies such as Singapore Press Holdings and Edipresse Singapore. She now enjoys educating students of all ages, teaching them various forms of writing short and long form as well as journalistic writing to feature writing, scriptwriting and copywriting for various platforms, such as print, web and social media purposes.

Jeremy Chia, Lecturer

Jeremy has been a design practitioner for more than 20 years. His experience spans from graphic design, web design & print publications to post production work. Jeremy enjoys working in all these areas. Most importantly, he appreciates the opportunity to facilitate design lessons and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and learning from others.
